updated.com (Google Adwords partner)

How legit are their clicks?

updated.com are accounting for an increasing amount of clicks from Adwords (see typical example below). My CR is also decreasing. Is this just a coincidence?

updated.com offer an affiliate program which bothers me. I stopped using most of the other PPC SE's because of fraudulent clicks caused by partners with affiliate programs.

Has anyone else had the same experience? I am going to stop showing my ads on Google's partner sites to see if things improve. However, I don't want to because I like most of the partners.

It would help if Adwords had an option to select which sites my ads appear on. It would then be possible to monitor ROI's more closely.

I would also like an option to select on which Google tab you wish to advertise, for example, I already rank well for certain keywords in normal Google, but am misrepresented ;) on Google groups.

Updated.com is one of the good partners. I measured my ROI and it stands strong with all of them.

What I have seen regarding increase/decrease in sales was the significance of the content of the Ad campaign and how important it is to match it well with the sales content so even if it gets less clicks as long as your ROI is working to better the numbers.

Hope that helps!

First I've heard of them, actually. (updated.com anyway)

If the clicks seem to be fraud or what not -> contact Google.

Anything that makes their adwords program less effective is not good for them, and they will take swift action if something is indeed going on.

Jimmy - Welcome to WebmasterWorld! Always good to see new people posting - we have a cool site search [searchengineworld.com] if you haven't seen it, highly recommended for 'catching up' on all the good info here ( and there is a ton).

Cheers!

I'd never heard of updated.com either, but what surprises me is that xupiter is listed as an adwords partner.

Try typing: xupiter remove into google and you'll see what I mean.
