We get plenty of clicks from our competitors and writing to Google to claim back the money will be a real chore.

Google - when will you allow us to block our adverts from being shown to certain IPs? If you can geotarget and you can use negative keywords why can't you allow negative IPs too?

Are you saying that you believe that your competitors are clicking on your ads, or that you are getting high traffic from their sites?

I would think the second case would not really be that bad, and the first case would be easy to track.
