Message Too Old, No Replies

I just got together a rough game plan for my net biz site. Now what?

Google PPC is one of the top deeds to be done.

I want to start Google PPC.

I put together a SEO game plan, thanks to all here who helped me out and encouraged me late last month.

What are the first steps to take with Adwords and what should I watch out for?

A step by step help will be great.

I already know what my main Keyword has to be. No problem there.

Make sure to make good use of negative keywords, so you don't spread yourself to thin. You don't want to be showing ads when you don't need to be and ruining your Click Through Rate.

what you said just passed right over my head. :(

I am a total newby at this.

Is there a step by step tutorial site that I can look at?

I want to get more orders in (actually I need to) but am very fustrated because I don't really know where to start with Google adwords.

My adverage site visits are at about 170 a month. There is surely something I can do to double that, right?

Say you sell widgets, and so you start using AdWords with widget as your keyword. Provided people are searching for the word widget, your traffic is going to increase. You may find however, that much of your traffic is actually searching for "red widget" but you don't have anything to do with red widgets, so you will want to stop your ads from being triggered with the word red. To do this you make red a negative keyword, ie "-red". Perhaps if you start an AdWords account things will be a lot clearer, then you can ask more specific questions as you come across them.

Presumably when the site "SEO plan" was put together there were lots of keywords in mind in adition to the "main keyword". Ideally each page of the site focuses on 2-4 different keywords or more likely phrases.

The best plan for SEO and AdWords or any PPC campaign to to think of it all in terms of a pyramid [searchengineworld.com] as Brett so eloquently put together a while back.

Specific keywords (on exact or phrase match) go to the deep pages. More general keywords go to the homepage & these might go on broad match for learning purposes. Buy very specific keywords and lead visitors to the most specific page possible on the site.

Start with low bids to ease in. Consider opting out of content syndication when starting especially if your keywords are expensive.

They'll be lots of good info going around here too [webmasterworld.com].
