Staying logged-in to Adwords

Anyone know how to change the timers?

I'm starting to get really annoyed with the way that AdWords logs you out after only a small period of time.

Almost everytime I create or monitor my ads I have to enter my username and password a couple of times as I keep getting put back to the main 'log-in' page.

Is there anyway of changing the settings so that if the page is idle for 10 minutes I can still do things without having to go through this process again and again?

Thanks in Advance, GM

It's annoying me too! I can often add a load of keywords, press save and get booted out!

Work on good old notepad first. After logging in, create the ad copy and use copy/paste for the keywords.

Are you getting sort of an error log out? It is not unusual to have to log in a few times for it to stick for me.

It doesn't show any error signals.

I think it's simply a security measure to have a short time-out for when the page is sat idle - so that no-body can mess round with your account.

I just wish there was some setting where I could disable this as someone else using my PC isn't a problem I have, but constantly having to log-in is!

It just logs me out at random. When you log back in you often go back to the screen you left.

This has been a continuing problem with AdWords for the last few months.

AWA addressed this issue some time ago saying the engineers were aware of the problem and were working on it however I can't quickly find the thread. He also offered some browser changes to make. If anyone can find the thread it might be a good idea to post it again.

You soon discover how to avoid it. e.g. I often add a power-posted keyword by using the Edit option, not add. I copy an existing line and edit it, then click Estimate Traffic (or Save). If the ad group is large, e.g. >500 keywords, then I am near-guaranteed to be booted out, sometimes after the addition has taken, but mostly with no change. Yes, a minor benefit is that the login field here remembers your login name and you don't have to type it in.

Using the Add button seems to reduce the risk of getting booted out. I now add 10-20 keywords at a time.

A time saving anti frustration technique can be to use a clipboard manager. This will save everything you've copied, cut or pasted. Copy every line real quick after it's been entered. If you get booted, you can put the curser in a field, then double click the whichever entry you want in the program (which will float on top of the page) to have the same info entered back into the field.

This is also a way to save groups of cuts and pastes into a single area to quickly duplicate ads in other campaigns.

I've also noted of late that when I get booted, the info I entered is often still saved, I just have to log back into see it.
