Google deactivated my account recently due to a screw up by the bank that gave me the CC. Now, the CC is perfect, but GGL refuses to accept the number.

I tried mailing them and they keep replying that I have to supply the CC info again. Well, it keeps getting rejected.

Does nayone have a phone number where I can call to have this problem resolved ASAP?. My card works everywhere but at Google.

Greetings theposter,

I think once Google 'flagged' the initial negative account information you'll not be able to use that card with them again. At least not without some letter of credit from the bank and extremely good luck in contacting the right person to remove, or reset the forms.

Have you tried using another card? As for phone numbers, wow. I doubt seriously you'll have much luck there. Then again, one can never tell.

Pendanticist.

Hey theposter, I feel your pain. I don't know what caused the trouble initially, but I haven't been able to get ads to run for a week. I've tried 4(!) different credit cards (all valid and well below their credit limit), but haven't had any luck. I'm going to try starting a new account to see if the card# is blacklisted globally through the adwords system.

I trade my fleece blanket back in for any response from Google on this issue.

I have not tried to insert credit card into Google, but I have found with other sites it can be something simple like whether you input c/c number as one number

eg, 1234567889123456

or with gaps 1234 5678 9012 3456

Had problems with Network Solutions before, and this was the answer, I was putting in the gaps as on my c/c and their system rejected it for that reason, input with no gaps and it worked

Thanks for the tip cornwall. I've tried it with no spaces, spaces and hypens. No dice.

Here's another update, opening a new account with a previously declined card won't work either. If this doesn't sort itself out in another day, it'll be time to open a new account with a new card.

Good Luck - the joys of dealing with computers - second only to the joys of dealing with telephone systems that ask you to input credit card number, date of birth, mothers maiden name, and then leave you on hold.

Surely if you are entering credit card information you have to be able to speak to a real life human being? There are many things that can be automated but something as valuable as credit card queries just has to have a human presence.
