Be careful with punished accounts

One of my friends who is also managing Adwords campaigns got their account disabled by Google for the possible abusive use of the Adwords system.

He asked me to login to his account to transfer the ads to mine. I did that but got totally shocked by the fact that after the login, my account was also punished by Google! And that's not all. My card, two cards registered with Adwords actually, have both got denied!

So I learned my lesson in a hard way. And those like me who are managing Adwords accounts, please be careful when you login to an account that has been punished by Google. Beware of the collateral damages!

BTW, Anyone has the same experience? how can I have my card recovered and my account reinstated? Call Google directly?

Nope. You would have to do unethical ways in order to get back in.

Yes, I'd definitely call or email AdWords Support. If you email, use the 'Contact Us' link which is on each page of your account.

It's not me that have done anything unethical to get banned by Google. I've been managing Adwords carefully for almost a year and never had any major problems. Like everybody else my account gets reviewed by Google now and then and gets passed everytime with no problem.

I even have several accounts and often log in and out from one to another. If I've done something unethical, and with Google tracking my activities, I would have long before been banned.

So one day I happened to log in to my friend's account, which had obviously been banned by Google, to help him out, then I switched to mine and wow, my account suddenly got banned too. That will be too unthinkable to say it's just a coincidence.

AWA - can you confirm that what caused this could cause this?

Yeah, what was so bad to do that got him kicked out of Adwords?

I wish I could provide some insight, mquarles. But this is a case in which the actual account(s) would need to be looked at before anyone could provide a meaningful opinion.

As I mentioned in my previous post, maoley should definitely call or email AdWords Support and have the situation looked at in detail.

OK, the final verdict from Google after 3 emails and 2 calls of appeal and 4 days of waiting:

Thank you for your call. Due to difficulties with related accounts you created in our program, we are unable to allow you to advertise on Google.

Maybe Google has its own policies. But is it too harsh to a long time client who has contributed tens of thousand dollars to Adwords? The word "arrogance" come up to my mind but I force myself not to believe it because Google is my favorite search engine (I have a whole section dedicated to Google on my website) and I used to love it so much.
