Clicks from a disabled keyword

Funny but true

Couples of days ago I made a new adgroup with a single keyword (name of large industry player) that had been disabled in another adgroup. Interestingly enough the keyword shows "disabled" but is nevertheless generating clicks, not much I have to admit, so the breaks are on but still.

I also noticed that diabled keywords in other adgroups get activated from time to time (to see if they are doinbg any better?).

Anyone seen this?

Sure. I've even got one keyword that produces tremendous traffic that bounces in and out of disabled every few weeks or so.

I am scratching my head about this same situation.

My disabled keywords (some) seem to still show up in search results.

This is too weird for me.

;)

This is a classic 'corner-case'.

Sometimes a disabled keyword (that has not been deleted) will show up for a few impressions after a change is made to the ad in that Ad Group.

This doesn't happen often, and doesn't happen for long - just for a few impressions. Then it reverts to it's true status, which is 'disabled'.

Best to just delete the keyword, then re-use it in a more targeted Ad Group, IMO.
