Cost exceeds daily budget

I recently reduced my daily budget and over the last few days I have noticed that the daily cost of my ad group is exceeding the campaign daily limit. I only have one ad group in this campaign.
Anyone know why this would occur?

How much does it exceed the daily budget?

Its possible that the daily cost exceeds the budget by 10-20%, if I remember correctly. However, the monthly cost should not exceed the daily budget*30 (days). There is something about it somewhere in the FAQs.

It may exceed the daily budget, but AdWords will try to rectify this over the course of your month, so that the spend is roughly the same per day over the whole month.

Anyway, if your monthly budget is exceeded, AdWords will credit (or not bill) any extra clicks generated. :)
