When I pause a campaign will I lose my position?

You know, after running a campaign a few days it is possible that the position will be better than before because of a good CTR, people are liking your ad. But what will happen if I pause the whole campaign for several hours each day? Say I'll only run it 12 hours and pause it the other 12 hours. Will this affect the increased position? Will google penalize me for this, will they benefit advertisers who are running their ads without interruption?

Thanks in advance.

very interesting question.

I have noticed that my content match and partner sites take quite some time to come back once a campaign is paused and then re-started.

others may have different experiences.

I don't think it will affect your position, I've never noticed that even with campaigns paused for a few weeks.

However, I'd have to agree with Shak that sometimes after we pause a campaign, it might take a while to come back on partner sites, so if you wanted to run it 12 hours a day, you might have to time how long before the 12 hour window you need to restart your campaign so you actually show it the entire 12 hours.

it only affects your position if the competitors have moved, based on the usual.
