What happens to brands or companies that were in the public mind due to advertising and now decide to stop advertising.

Burma-Shave

--From what I've found, the last Burma-Shave roadside ad was posted in 1963. However, many people of that generation still remember the ad. Even some people born after 1963 recognize the famous roadside ad campaign.

Welcome to Webmasterworld rishabh!

I think you have posted this in the wrong forum, but maybe a mod could move it for you :)

Some brands disappear if they are not advertised any longer. Other brands remain in peoples' memories even after advertising has stopped. It all depends on how the brand was advertised in the first place, e.g. was it memorable?

Of course advertising is only one part of the markeing and promotion mix. Google didn't advertise when they started and look at them now. :)
