Can advertisers have their phone number in ad?

I know this has been asked before, but...

Does Google take any action against advertisers who have their phone number in the ad - if you report it to them?

Surely Google loses money if people can just call the number in the ad and not click on it.

Apparently not. It's been discussed here before, and I actually saw one today. I think most web users will just click the ad anyway, before picking up the phone - wouldn't you? Your hands on the mouse, they've got your attention...Why pick up the phone without a click first to see whats there?

TheDave, thanks

I have now found threads referring to this. Apparently, it IS allowed to have phone numbers in ads provided the advertiser maintains acceptable CTR.

And apparently it sometimes results in increases in CTR!

I withdraw my questions. I should have checked a bit more first.
