I have an ad which has the 1st position on google.

I checked the "Show ads on Google search and: search sites in Google's network " check-box.

My ad is shown on Ask Jeeves, EarthLink. but it is not shown on Netscape, AOL, ....

Someone knows how google select sites in its search network to display your ads?

ninhld,

My guess is that this is a Daily Budget issue.

I suspect that your ad isn't showing 100% of the time, and that when you looked on AOL and Netscape your ad simply wasn't showing at all.

To confirm this, check your recommended daily budget as compared to your actual daily budget.

To do this, see item number two in the 'Edit Campaign Settings' page, available from the appropriate campaign page of your account. If your actual budget is less, then your ad won't be showing all the time for every keyword.

This answer presupposes that you are referring to the same ad. If you are speaking of different ads, it might be that one ad is approved, and the other is not. Un-reviewed ads will not be sent to partner sites, as I suspect you already know.

"Show ads on Google search and: search sites in Google's network " check-box.

Where is this option?

hobbnet, this option is available from the same 'Edit Campaign Settings' page that was mentioned in my earlier post above.

Each campaign has its own 'Edit Campaign Settings' page, and you get to it by clicking on the link of the same name, near the top left of each campaign page.

This is a very useful page to know about, as it is where you'd go to make important overall settings for your campaign. On this page you can:

* edit campaign name
* change, or evaluate daily budget as compared to recommended budget
* set an end date for the campaign
* select or un-select your partner options
* choose your language targeting options
* choose your country targeting options
* choose your regional targeting options

AWA,

We're seeing something very similar.

Exact same add, exact same campaign, exact same budget, no changes from August.

Our add is not showing anywhere near the quantity of traffic as before.

At last look, this was different by a factor of 7 for AOL.

Netscape is also down by about a similar factor.

Could be seasonal -- but 7X?

Hmmm. Well, I'll pass this one by the tech team to see if they have any insight. I have heard of no issues though, and I usually do - rather quickly.

It'll probably take me a couple of days to post again, as I have to corner the right people. ;)

I noticed the same problem on about 1/4 of my keywords around 3 - 4 weeks ago. All were longstanding Ad Groups with no recent changes and a very adequate budget, but did not show on AOL. I emailed AdWords support and they were able to get the ads running again very quickly, however their explanation for why it happed was very vague. Clicks immediately went back to formal levels.
