i've just checked my google adword campaign and i have exactly the same keywords in 2 different ad groups.

one is costing me 24p per click with a daily estimate of 60. The second is costing me 60p per click with a daily estimate of 60.

my question is are these groups working against each other?
do they show up in different searches so my ad is therefore estimated to be shown 120 times a day for this search term? or will one of these ads be shown if so which one?

how should i rectify this? do i delete the more expensive ad word? or leave it to run and get cheaper like i did with the first one?

thanks

>>> do they show up in different searches?

No. Google alternates between the two differently priced keywords. It may not show the ads equal number of times though - it depends on the keyword CPC, CTR and avg position.

Your ad will never be shown twice for the same search.

um.. it depends. Compare the CTR and avg pos of the two differently priced keywords.

An example -

If 25p keyword has a CTR of 5% and 60p keyword has a CTR of 2%, then delete the 60p keyword and increase the max CPC of the first keyword to 60p - assuming you can afford to pay 60p per click.
