Is it true that you can lose your position for a keyword in Google's serp if you used that keyword in its Adwords program? If so, how do you get your keyword back on the normal serp?

I used it for a certain keyword and noticed my site now doesn't appear within the top 100 of serp (was 41). The only changes I made to my site since then was changing the text link that leads to my home page from "home" to "keyword".

Nope, it's a misperception that AdWords has an effect (pro or con) on Google's rankings. So to be clear: AdWords has no effect whatsoever on how Google ranks sites.
For the really curious, you can step into Google's collective attitude by checking out this document: [google.com...] It may sound hokey to non-googlers or cynics, but we really do try to return the best results all the time.
