Do Google care?

Hi

A while back I noticed a new guy competing for the same keywords as me. After a bit of investigation, it turns out it's actually my old competitor under another account.

He's basically ensuring he's always either 1 or 2. I know this is against Google's terms, but if I report it are they likely to do anything about it? Or should I stop whinging and just do the same?

Send G a report with the keywords and the sites. They've already removed several competitors of mine for doing the same thing.

The problem really stems from, if your competitors get tricky and make the site with just a small difference in content/layout/links, and then link to their old site all over the place, G won't do a thing about it.

Unfortunately, I think it is tricky.

The 2 sites look similar but are registered to different people (although I suspect they are on the same server) but there is a link when you go into the shopping cart.

If the shopping cart links are the same, then send that info to G in your report. That should be enough to get them removed. If each site had its own shopping cart, even if registered to the same company, in my experience, G won't do anything about it.

I tried once - I send report to Google about two ads on one page pointing to the same url. But they said that one was affiliate and affiliates are allowed to have separate listings.Nonsense for me.

:)

you dont have to do the same. He will get caught out, perhaps, at some point.

Not a lot you can do about it :)

1st it used to be SEOs having 2 sites in top 10, and everyone complained, now its 2 sites on adwords and people are complaining.

next it will be 2 websites on the internet which will be a crime.

But Shak, they'd both be yours ;)
