Don't you just love it when form entry busts

...you've spent half an hour preparing a new campaign; several hundred keywords etc. etc.; then you click "Next.." and within 1 millisecond, quick as a flash, Google says:

"Yup. That didn't work."

Down the snake...

Yup, I sympathise with you. Go and have a nice cup of ginger+lemon tea!

And hence my thread about a need for super-powerposting (TM jneill!).

I'm also soooo used to PCs/net connections keeling over at critical moments that I tend to build campaigns in small steps just... in.... case... but it IS very time consuming.

dmorison, I've had the same experience many times, but most times I've been able to hit the back button on my browser and do a copy, then paste once I relogin.

Using the back button is not recommended with Adwords but it has got me out of trouble. Never continue with your current session if you use the back button. Always log in again. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Arhh I sympathise :( Perhaps a good idea to copy to the clipboard before posting :) I've got into the habit of doing that if I've written a lengthy forum post, because I never put half as much effort into it the second time, and its almost not worth posting then.

Use Opera and shift-click the form button to generate the results in a new window.

Use Opera and shift-click the form button to generate the results in a new window.

Do you think that's a good idea? Given how flaky Google's web apps seem to be I can't imagine it handling a re-submit of form generated earlier within the application state...

Still, worth trying; can't make things any worse...!

Sorry for the frustration, dmorison. I know the feeling, having had the same thing happen (multiple times) while writing a lengthy and carefully composed listing on an online auction site.

jneill, you are so right.

On AdWords, I'd suggest composing long keyword lists in Excel or Word (in the correct format of course - one per line, no commas) then pasting the list into the keyword entry box at the appropriate moment.

This can really speed things up, helping to avoid 'timing out' - and if you do have a problem, then you still have your keyword list intact.

You can bet I compose in Word/cut/paste with my auction listings now!
