A couple of questions...

1. some of my ads have avarage position < 1, usually something between 0.6 and 0.9. Looks strange, how is average position calculated?

2. one of my keywords had unbeliivably high number of impressions on the 2nd of October, usually it's less than 10 impressional daily. On the 2nd of Octobet the number of impresions was 1100+ The number of clicks was usual - 3 clicks. My CTR dropped from usual 25-35% to 0,2%

I would think this had something to do with the expanded broad matching feature announced I believe on the same day, and in such a case I'd expect my competitors to experience the same ctr drop. But on the 4th of October my average position for this keyword dropped from usual 0.8 -1.2 to 4.5 I do not believe this could be caused by the fact that all my competitors increased their max cpc at the same time. The only reason I can see is that ctr drop two days earlier. Then I do not understand how this ctr drop could affect my competitors' ads less than mine. And yes, the number of impressions was back to normal on the 3rd and 4th

So the questions are: did anybody see unusually high number of impressions on the 2nd (like 100 times more impr. than usual)? When cpc and position are calculated what ctr is taken into consideration? today's ctr? yesterday's ctr? last week's or last month's ctr?

Adwords has some serious problem going on.
Probably in your targeted country /language ads from other countries and even in different languages started to appear, and also your ad started to appear in other countries and on different language version of google.
So your ad may have appeared for example on Japanese google where it would be completely irrelevant an no one would click.
Same thing happened to me.

We should contact google.

found a thread related to the question 1., sorry for being too lazy to find it before posting the same question again

as to the second question I think it has nothing to do with expanded broad matching and this thread explaines the situation very well

the only question left is 'when ctr drop would affect your cpc and position, same day, next day, in a week?' and 'how long the negative effect would last?'

But with 10 impressions and 3 clicks per day, who would bother to try to get your ad out of AdWords?
