Can you use adwords to promote keywords?

Can you get better rankings on keywords if you use adwords?

Hello

I have a question.

I tried using one of my main keywords as the title on my adwords ad.

In just a couple of days it dropped from 103 to 169 in rankings on Google.

Can it be because I am using this keyword as my title in adwords?

I was hoping that if I used this keyword as my title in adwords my rankings would go up. Just the opposite has happened.

Can it be because I used this keyword in adwords. Should I change my ad?

Please Advise. Thanks!

I would bet big dollars that it was just a coincidence.

The AdWords system & the "free" search results are not related. Using AdWords will not affect the rank of your "free" listing in any way (positive or negative).

Absolutely! I always run a adword campaign for to-target words and phrases before i optimize a new site! If i wouldn't do this i wouldn't know what my targeted visitors would search to find me ...:)
