Friday Nite > Monday Morning Loophole

What's the deal with the spam?

I thought all Google Adwords were reviewed. While searching for the scientific name of a plant, I received this Adword:

"Add Inches to Your P****
Grow your P****, Safely and Easily,
with our Proven Enlargement Product
http://link.removed.from.br"

It wasn't even a plant that has anything to do with such enlargement claims.

Sounds like someons who doesnt know how to effectivly run an adword program.

They have probably choose their keywords and are alowing their advert to be displayed if any words are searched for.

Mack.

The classic Friday nite > Monday adwords loophole.

I kindly volunteer.

AdWordsAdvisor,

On a serious note though.

Please do pass this feedback on to product development team and co, its a very crucial issue, and I have raised it many a time with senior people at Google.

Automation is good, until the world starts abusing the service, which is on the increase.

Shak

As for tickets to london, any time my friend, just say the word, your UK counterparts will confirm that I know "how to party".

I agree with Shak. Abuse is on the increase, including the Fri - Mon problem. There are a lot of repeat offenders who deliberately flout the rules for as long as they can get away with it, then they plead ignorance.

Another related disturbing trend is lack of relevancy of ads to the keywords being targeted.

Point well taken Shak, and Robert Scott.

I'll bring this up 'live and in person' the next time I have the appropriate audience. Also, I've gotten in the habit of passing feedback such as this on to management and/or the product development team whenever a new issue surfaces - or an old one is espressed in a particulary pithy way. ;)

Just an aside - has anyone checked to see if the scientific name of this plant means something related to.... "male members" in Brazilian Portuguese?

PatrickDeese's post made me think about it a bit, and I guess there _is_ a connection. I was looking for a pine tree, and the Latin name for that is Pinus...
