Finding sites using Adsense

how can I find where my ads are appearing?

I use Adwords with keywords for some niche engineering terms. I have better results from content sites than from search results. I have not seen adsense ads on sites in my field that I am familiar with, but there must be some sites with the ads, or I would not be getting results.

Is there any way to search for sites that contain adsense? (actually adsense and certain keywords)

The only way that has worked for me was to check my logfiles.

xx.xx.xx.xx - - [21/Sep/2003:14:28:59 -0700] "GET /XXXXXX.html?source=adwords HTTP/1.1" 200 8454 "http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?client=ca-bravenet_ypnw_120x600&random=1064179568900&
hl=en&adsafe=high&format=120x600_new&output=html&url=http%3A//www.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.com/business/17958/6106/XXXXX.html" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; Hotbar 4.3.5.0)"

This is someone who found me through adsense.

werty is correct, the only reliable way is by going through your referral logs. Because it is in an iframe, the script is actually called each time the URL is called, so even viewing the Google cache version of the page will result in the AdSense file being called. The actual AdSense ad is not indexed at all.

werty's method does work and I have been able to find sites that have served my Adwords and there were click throughs. Thanks.

Is there any method of searching where I can find sites with keywords I am thinking about using. That is, I would search on "widget shipping containers" and something to find sites about widget shipping containers that have adwords?

John, I would see no reason not to test out the keywords that you are thinking about using. Is the only way you are using your adwords to go to contnet providers(sites that use adsense)?

Since you have access to your log files you can use tracking urls such as www.yoursite.com/target-page.html?source=adwords&kw=sweet-target-phrase

The only other thing I can think of would be to do a google search for the phrase you are thinking about trying. Now look at the regular adwords ads on the right. Hit refresh and see which ones are still showing, mainly in the top 2 positions.

Example:

Widget Search Phrase
Get your widgets here
and save 80%
www.widget.com

Now I would do a search for "widget search phrase" "www.widget.com"

See what regular pages come up in the SERPS and navigate to some of the pages. Then try "widget search phrase" "get your widget here"

See if anymore come up.

I have had experience where google will have the adsense text in their cache, so hopefully that will work for you. Mainly I get amazon results.
