Hello, I am in the process of revamping my adwords.

I have a question about negative matches.

so I have a large list of widgits i want to post, alone with unique urls like so:

wIDGET1 ** [WIDGITWORLD.com...]
wIDGET2 ** [WIDGITWORLD.com...]
wIDGET3 ** [WIDGITWORLD.com...]

now, i do not want people to see my ad for BLUE widgits and USED widget searches.

do i need to post each as as:

wIDGET1 -blue - used ** [WIDGITWORLD.com...]

or can i just post it as:

wIDGET1 ** [WIDGITWORLD.com...]
wIDGET2 ** [WIDGITWORLD.com...]
wIDGET3 ** [WIDGITWORLD.com...]
-blue
-used

the google instructions seem rather vauge on this.

thanks!

I believe it has to be the second method. If you do the first, you get an error, or at least I did before I tried it the second way. Good luck! :)

Ally_Cat is quite correct.

To this I would add that your negative keywords apply to all keywords in an Ad Group.

I've talked with a few advertisers who thought that the negative keywords applied only to the keyword immediatly above the negatives (as they create the list) - and this is not the case.
