How do I bump someone off premium adwords spot

No matter what I bid I can't go north

Currently ebay and amazon has their ads in the 2 premium spots in adwords (referred to as going north).

I kept putting in higher bids in adwords, just to see what it would take to knock them off, in favor of my ads. I was hoping i could do it for less than 50 cents (not a competive keyword), but I bid up to five bucks (just for a test) with no luck.

Is their some sort of restriction on ad length, for going north over normal right column adwords or is google giving preferential treatment to companies such as ebay or amazon.

wait till 31st December 2003...

those are premium ads and will NOT be removed by you even bidding $50 a click.

Shak, what happens on Dec 31?

I've heard of other sites securing this premium placement just on their trademarked brand names. That way, affiliates and competitors cannot outbid them no matter what. I assume that's common.

Premium Listings #1 and #3 position were sold long before adwords cam along (I think).

This will be discontinued on 31st December 2003.

That's explain it. I thought those premium listings disapeared, at the same time that google
stop charging minimuns on adwords, and make a nickel a pop, the minimun for everthing.

Im glad that google is finally getting rid of those premium sponsored ads by ebay and amazon.
