Ive had a call today from UK advertising.com making the unprecedented step of following up their cold call with an email (touch plc usually cant be @rsed with mail - and Id put this outfit into the same bracket)

Dont know what theyre offering yet but it will no doubt be the usual cpms and cpc's for peanuts (not). Just wondering if anyone has any info on them?

Cheers
C

It was the UK office, url - www.ukadvertising.com. Heres a snippet of their non too specific blurb:

Advertising.com offer some cpc and cpa programs. They have some household names in there - pretty similar to some of the other UK affiliate networks really.

spoke to these guys today
cpa's start at £10k!
Its clearly for the big boys and not for those with modest budgets. BT Vodafone etc are some of their customers. Just for the record here is a snapshot of what they claim to offer:

As soon as I see blurb like that I get wary. It smacks of not having the confidence in their own network to give any real numbers. As for "talk in more detail about your business model in order to find out what a lead is worth to you", that sounds like an excuse to up the price if you run a site in a competitive field.

I guess the only surprise here, is that we keep being surprised.

The UK seems to get an awful lot of cold-call advertisers, most of whom are not able to offer any specific traffic figures.

We are all big boys and girls here and probably not their intended customers, but nevertheless 'Caveat Emptor' applies.

Just had a call from them. They are going to send me an e-mail, but if its anything like the answer they gave me as to how they intend to produce 1000 leads per month (I could retire by Xmas!)it wont be much use. Ive never heard such a load of drivel. Apparently they have access to 12 billion unique users...how many people are there in the world?!
