Does anyone have any experience of the espotting optimisation service? Is it effective & what they actually do to "optimise" the listings

They are running an offer at the moment and I am wondering whether to try it.

I would think the best person to ask would be espotting.

Ring them up and ask them what this service entails.

Let them sell it to you....:)

Why let someone else pick your keywords, know one knows your site better than you

tigger,
having done SEO work in the past, I can assure you that there are plenty of web site owners who don't have the faintest idea of what kind of phrases to target for their site.

There are thousands of bricks and mortar businesses that have gained a website, but with no real understanding of how to market it on the web. I imagine that the Espotting service might actually be very useful to some of them :-)

I agree with most webmasters, but Gibbon was asking that question in a SEO forum, so I would assume he has some idea what keywords to market towards his site

Espotting and Overture have got access to data that is taken directly from their data relating to their historical searches.

So, for those that either don't have the skill or the time then it may be worth it.

We'd charge a lot more for this service, but it would encompass more than just Espotting.

I think the general idea is that in theory you should get well written ads that convert better, but I've not seen too much anecdotal evidence to this effect. Sure there are some case studies, carefully selected with what seems to be good ROI.

When people enlist most service providers for work they ask for references. As the provider of the service and no need for impartiality Espotting should be able to provide several companies that you can ring to enquire about the service, but sadly it's too late to get the "deal" as the switch over occurs tonight at 1.00am

My concern is that if the top 20 for one keyword all opted to pay for this "optimisation service" (bad choice of name in my opinion, then there would be a lot of unhappy customers who would not reap the benefits.
