MSN do use a directory, Looksmart.

It is likely your pages may have been crawled by Inktomi and included in their index.

You can use a number of paid providers to get your link in:

IMHO positiontech offer an excellent service and make it easy to add on FAST or ASK if you feel they are of use (not sure whether either can provide the traffic yet)

Verisign also offer the links as do a number of others but they have poor reporting and are very difficult if you're trying to monitor 100+ paid links!
