Who's still using them

Who of the UK search engines are still using meta tags.

Or are we still using them just to keep clients happy.

As far as I'm aware INK (msn) are still using them.

MSN applies a very small relevancy to them and no one else ever considers them. if you are in a very competetive area then use them wisely for MSN, if not don't bother.

I have not optimised for MSN for a long while - but then the Description was very important - has that now changed?

I just quickly checked 10 of my clients before answering your question and I think yes. We always optimise our client sites for Google and they do equally well in any inktomi SE. Dont expect a lot of traffic from MSN though!
