Has anyone seen searchuno.co.uk?

It looks ok but there directory is a little small at the moment.

One to keep an eye on perhaps. They also got 'Site of the Day' in the Daily Mirror!

It's not owned by the Mirror Group by any chance?

Sorry - I don't think they are owned by The Mirror Group - oops.

In fact if I remember correctly there is a representative of searchuno on this board.

I have submitted a site and it has already been accepted in their directory (different from ODP).

I think bunder is, though I obviously have no clue as to whether he/she reads this particular forum.

Its a very patriotic directory, certainly. Though I think there should be a different style applied to the directory listings and the sites in them, so its more obvious, at the moment they're all blue links, everywhere. Its disorientating.

idea example:
This : is : the : category
This is the website title
This is the description
http //this.is.the.url/

As an aside, should a representative read this, the "about us" page is missing two spaces.

Other pages: Advanced Search ¦ Make Searchuno my home page
About us page: Advanced Search¦Make Searchuno my home page

Too many quotes spoil the broth. Sorry!

As the forum says you can't promote sites that you operate or are involved in, I won't talk about it in response to the postings, other than I will stickymail individuals who have asked questions.

cheers

Good Looking Site and very quick to Enter our website after submission.

Directory is definetly different from ODP, but based largely on it - not sure why our website was not included though as the ODP category was.

Submitted a site to Searchuno and received a reply within 24 hours telling me the listing had been rejected for one of the following reasons:

(as per the TOC this is a abbreviated version to give you the gist of the email)

1. over 18
2. already listed
3. duplicate categories
4. not developed
4. affilliate site
5. no content
6. no uk focus
7. site down

(looks like eight to me and not seven ;) )

Anyhow my point is that I am seriously struggling to see what above applies and can only presume that the site was down (VERY UNLIKELY THOUGH). The site i submitted has been accepted to all other directories it is submitted to and is a very professionally designed site with over 600 pages.

Surely it would have been easier for the editor to have 7 (or 8) email templates with the reason for decline on and select the appropiate one to send so that the webmaster knows EXACTLY why.
