i was just omitting .com or net etc.. and going by co.uk and .co.uk higher ranked on google.co.uk and not necessarily placed higher on uk yahoo serps. In other words two .co.uk's one ranked 4 on google.co.uk on the uk pages only and another ranked 15.There are instances where the one ranked 15 is higher on uk yahoo serps and both have .co.uk endings-when i looked in the past i thought the ranking were the same as google.co.uk omitting anything other then .co.uk and some repeat pages.Or has it been this way since the default wasnt the directory and i didnt scrutinize that before as traffic was minimal(like now people clicking on the directory when b4 it was the default)I realise yahoo.com changed back n sept, but yahoo.co.uk only just changed a few weeks back.

i think you'll find that regardless of what the main google site is doing in terms of the dance, the partner sites get their updates rolled out later.

it is also possible that yahoo! are applying a different set of filtering criteria to google.co.uk - they may additionally be filtering on character encoding for example, which would also vary the serps
