Targeting UK with Overture - what search services use it?

What are the restrictions if any?

Hi,

Are you required to be based in the UK to list w/ Overture UK?

I am in the US, but currently work with several non-US clients and would like to target UK markets.

What are the restrictions - if any (I didn't see any with a quick glance at the TOS)?

Also, what UK search engines does Overture UK feed?

Thanks!

I agree, probably the best bet would be the Yahoo/Espotting partnership for the UK.

siiix,

How can you say that Overture does NOT work in the UK.

Yes, I agree Espotting Kick ASS when it comes to Yahoo and AskJeeves search results.

Overture still has MSN, Aol, Freeserve and many others.

I speak from experience as I am a client with Espotting and Overture.

Ok, I have my arguements with them, but they DO both deliver the results if used correctly.

Important point, whatever you choose, check that the competing listings are aready appearing in the chosen serps. If not, there may be other options to consider, such as a Yahoo UK listing.

Hope you blokes are right about espotting, or I've just kissed goodbye to 130 quid!

Overture provide me with roughly the same amount of traffic as espotting! + I find my ROI from overture is far better!

>are right about espotting

Remember, it is Yahoo that delivers the results and espotting is just one way to get into Yahoo uk serps.

engine, we already have decent serps/referrals from yahoo.(uk &.com)
Are you saying we have wasted our time and money with espotting, or do the other engines they list do okay?

PS This thread started with Overture. Am I still on topic?

Espotting is GREAT for ASK.co.uk , especially if there is No One who has bought the editorial question links, or keyword banners.

Shak's correct. The others include:Lycos, Ask Jeeves, ntl:home, Netscape, UK Plus and Looksmart.

BTW - If you've already got good results in all the serps I wouldn't see the need to pay. ;)
