Videoman, we thought there was so much interest in this subject on a global basis that a dedicated forum is now in place.
Don't worry, we wouldn't simply remove a thread like this.

Are you selecting e-mail replies for threads? You should be informed as people post to your thread.
ADDED - Indeed, I just noticed you are...

Thanks Engine
The email pointed me to an address that just said some pages have been moved
So will yesterday go down as the Black Monday of 2000 ???
Contrary to what others have said my Freeserve Ink listings are GONE

Well, if you are looking at a email that was just before the post was moved, then the email will have the wrong url on it.

Glad you found the post.

Videoman - Black Monday! Nooo! We don't have that kind of thing around here.

Freeserve are supposed to be serving goto results in the top few records with Ink filling in the rest. Has your record simply been relegated beneath paid, or truly buried?

Not even buried just gone. I did a site name search, loadsa links but the home page (.co.uk) only shows up in the Europe section, NOT the UK section. I previously had 4 pages that came up in the UK section 2 of which were in the top ten for relevant KW's.
I'm sure there has been an INK update as well.

The other thing that is rather puzzling is that there appear to be two different Advanced searches - top and bottom ones bring up different instructions- haven't worked that out yet.

Hmmmm, took a look. Not sure what's going on.
The data is definatly from Goto (Ink). Can you do the same search on goto itself to see if the entries for your search are paid? Oh yes, and similar?

Go to go (no pun intended) - we're off down the pub.

I've checked my paid for pages on freeserve and they have all gone as well. Could they be using a pre 'paid listings' version of ink.

I think that uk.goto.com just update their Inktomi DB later than other search portals. My sites took over a week to appear on goto after first being seen in the old Freeserve Inktomi DB.
