AA have phoned a client oif mine asking for keywords for a free listing as part of an ABTA initiative.
Anyone know anything about this, I thought they gave any site a free listing?

It sounds like sales 'spin' to me.

AFAIK they offer a free listing but use aggressive sales techniques to 'sell-up' to a paid listing.

I have a client who paid for entry, his log files indicate zero traffic as a result.

I don't even bother going for the free listings any more, as all it seems to do is generate loads of spam for my clients.

I agree, I just wondered if anyone would say different. I Have found this in the abta newsletter now.

maybe they should add, in order to take up the offer, you will be getting a sales call from them...

yes, we were in the free listings for ages and again saw zero traffic on a reasonably good term... these guys just want your details so they can barrage you with sales calls...

I had my business listed in AA and did not receive one lead from the free listing. I never tried the paid listing but cant see it being all that much different to justify the cost.
