what are the most popular UK engines

Hi there

What are the most popular UK search engines and directories at the moment:

When I last checked it seemed to be google/dmoz and altavista.

With the likes of msn.co.uk being a homepage by default and having a search area on it, and ive seen some search engines advertised on TV, should I be looking at others, preferably free submissions

I am sure someone will have a good list.

Though, you might want to check out what ISP's use for their searches (like Freeserve using Google)....because their will always be a respectful amount of traffic you can get from these more or less "guaranteed" quality sources of traffic (if you are targetting UK)

Looksmart UK (due to several is's)

I would say BBC search is sure to be a hit soon!

And then there are the search components of the major isp portals, freeserve et al.

Plus loads of smaller directories. I don't think UKplus is a big hitter any more, people just assume that it is, their content is quite stale.

There will be more that I have missed also.
