It seems that Lycos.co.uk restructured the directory.

Work seems in progress.

Several sites show in the search (ranking considering old directory title and description) but not in the "new" directory.

Several "old" directory seems lost!

Does it means that we need to pay in the future?

I don't appear to have lost any sites at the moment, maybe it was just recategorisation of some sites and they didn't appear for a short while.

Have seen Directory Review for Inclusion on [webwurld.com...]

A paid submission '57 varieties' is now on Lycos UK's submission page and you now pay Lycos directly. Includes paid directory and paid inclusion spidering options. You can still get in for free with 'no guarantee'. Check out [secure.lycos.de...]

I've paid to put a site into the directory and got approved within 48 hours. Now to see how long it takes to actually appear!

I discovered the mistery!

Everything is unchanged.

Doing a search, some sites show the directory where they are placed: if you click on that directory (where the site is supposed to be), in fact you go the the first or second directory level.

About the Lycos free submit - I had a couple of sites included last month this way, no problem.

However, with the new submission page (see post 4), the free submission seems to go round in a loop - there's only a 'Back' button at the bottom, and no 'Submit'.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers

Crome Yellow, if you are getting this situation it means that you have filled in one of the fields incorrectly or failed to fill in a field.

Doh!

So the 'Next' button, or whatever it is, only appears once all fields are filled?

Boy, do I feel silly :) I'll go and give it another shot.

Cheers

Sorry to be dense, but:

Does the Directory Submission cover the whole Lycos network or just .co.uk?

Is the PFI program for URL's/pages the same as the Fast program, if so does this offer inclusion to the 'global' Fast/Lycos network or is this again just .co.uk? If not, are the Fast and Lycos PFI different options - I thought that Fast offered literally a 'global' inclusion rather than country specific.

Thanks in advance!

The Lycos Directory only feeds the UK regional Directory database...It is not the same as the Fast shenanigans!!!
