WebmasterWorld is proud to announce PubConference 2, the web marketing and promotion event of 2002, to be held in London England and hosted by WebmasterWorld Members.

You've been hearing about PubCon 1 for the past year and wishing you had been there. Don't miss this opportunity to open yourself to new methods and strategies for web marketing revealed by the friends and family of WebmaserWorld at PubCon 2!

When?
Saturday Oct 12, 2002, 1pm to whenever.

Where?
Cittie of Yorke Pub in downtown London England. This is an incredible place for a weekend conference. There's been a Pub there since the year 1430.

The main bar is a cavernous mediaeval-style hall with a high vaulted ceiling and everywhere you look there are carved oak panels, ornate metalwork and some of the biggest oak vats you'll ever see above the bar - it's like an elven king's hall out of The Lord Of The Rings. (-professor hardbottle)

Why?
The premise is simple, many of our members are qualified to speak at conferences and are bored to tears when attending other ones. So why did we go to them? Just to get to the bar and network with people! The contacts, the associations, the follow ups, and the friendships have been some of the most productive contacts we have ever been part of.

What's in it for me?
The Short scoop? It's your chance to put yourself in the loop with the in marketing crowd (it's probably why you came to this site).

Agenda:
We will be having several "round table" discussions dealing with topics from acquiring traffic to converting traffic. I've also hear rumors that a certain forum operator will be sharing 20 years worth of secrets on successful forum building.

Sponsors:
AllTheWeb, Position Tech, Inktomi, TopDog, Overture UK.

Special Guests? Who will be there?
- many of the worlds and and Europes top seo's will be there.
- 3 guys who each made over $100k last year running mom & pop affiliate sites.
- Search Engine Representatives. (don't tell em I told you this, but talking with these folks was one of the highlights of the last conference for me. shhh).
- A guy named Sullivan from SearchEngineWatch will be there.
- Per and Susan Koch of the Pandia Post.

Travel - goin mobile:
We've been watching air fares from the US to London since March, and they are as inexpensive right now as they have been all year long!

Cost:
All funds go directly towards the cost of hosting the event (venue expenses, and the OPEN bar etc..).

Early bird signup until the end of July for only 45 Pounds Sterling (approx $69USD)

Got Site? Sure:

Hey PageOneResults - I don't believe it...I'm flying from London to Vancouver (fishing) on the big day, so no need for the bodyguards !!.

Yabadabadoo!
I'm really looking forward to participating in the 3rd WebmasterWorld conference. The 2 first was a blast, and I've heard rumors that this one will blow you away :)

Psst! Europeans don't forget the unrealistic low air fares you get at Ryan Air. My ticket will be around $20 ;)

Well the t-shirts aren't an official wmw PubCon product or site, so I'm not worried about that one. ;) Thanks for the clarification.

I finally gave up on Paypal ... now I just have to dig around unti I find a checkbook, an envelope and some stamps. This'll be the first time I've NOT used a credit card & online order form for a web "purchase" in years.

Weird.

Info about the Cittie of Yorke Pub:

[pubs.com...]

Whoa, it's been there in one form or another since the year 1430! 5 centuries old - now that is a successful business!

I updated the Venue Page [webmasterworld.com] with directions to the Pub. Thanks to the London Perl Mongers [london.pm.org] for the directions.

If you are in London on Thursday (July 4th), the Perl mongers are holding a meeting at the same pub!

Maybe they realize the danger they are in sending employees that know too much to a conference filled with SEOs, marketers, and spammers! ;)

Mike Mackin: "and rumor has it there will be at least one person from Australia & Thailand"

I didn't realise they had federated...I suppose it makes sense...it is probably easier to get to Bangkok from Canberra than it is to get to Darwin

Hola Guys

That conference sounds like a lot of fun- how fast will this Thistle hotel fill up?

Gotta spend a few days justifying the expense in my brain....

I just had a very confusing conversation with them, this girl who I spoke to spent ages dithering about what rate I should get (is there a WMW one?) and will have to call me tomorrow!

How hard can it be to book a room?

Even though i will live in London i will still have Swedish membership so i will count myself as a Scandinavian, so you have a pretty tuff job there heini, if i got it correctly we are 11 from Scandinavia, 3 from denmark, 3 from sweden, and 4 from Norway (the Koch couple is from Norway right?)
