I believe I was one of the first people to pay for Looksmart UK (anyway they rang me up on their first day and said so)! They said 14 days for review and today - 10th Oct. (they started pay-for-review on 29th Sept) I got my e-mail of acceptance for all the sites (2) I submitted that day stating they would be listed shortly.

I am interested in seeing how they deal with the submitted title, description etc., but (more importantly) also how this effects lsitings in MSN, AV, Excite and Inktomi for UK versions of these engines and US effects (if any).

I will report any news! Here's hoping....

Makemetop - great! I'd be very interested to see exactly that. Traffic-wise, it will really be an interesting exercise - apart from Yahoo uk - the majority of all traffic comes from US-based engines.

I have 5 listings in looksmart UK. The descriptions I have are very good, but I only get a trickle of traffic from MSN UK and excite UK.

First update.

Still not listed in Looksmart UK despite approval, but got an e-mail stating that they are re-working the user interface and would update me when they do an update.

However started getting referrals today for 'site promotion', 'web site promotion', 'search engine optimization' from msn.co.uk - sure enough I'm there in the top 1 or 2. My client called, over the moon, getting hits from msn.co.uk for 'shelving', 'storage systems' and 'racking' - he's #1!

After the Inktomi hell - this is heaven! Can't wait for the rest of client sites to come up.

Anyway, so far so good!

First referral today from ninemsn in Australia. Looksmart UK entries have appeared in their directory 8 days after my approval e-mail. Paid for another two reviews today. Payment made 10.54am approval e-mail received 11.55am for first, 12.14pm for second. Maybe they are not very busy right now!

My Looksmart listings have now shown up at #1 on excite.co.uk for all my primary key words/phrases and starting to get a trickle of traffic from them. My top results at msn.co.uk are definitely a nice traffic boost for me and a client who I submitted for at the same time as my site e-mailed me to say that they have had a marked increase in visits which have resulted in sales from their msn.co.uk listings, so far so good.

Signed up for BTLookSmart 3 weeks ago and now have top 6 listings for 5 very important keywords (1,2,3,5,6) - different keywords, really great, not loads of traffic but absolutely targeted traffic ;)

Ex is slowly building up, I'm getting the first referrers from excite.co.uk...
