I have just noticed that Lycos is no longer including the directory results in the main search results. Has anyone else spotted this. Or is it just my imagination. Directory results are now only via the directory listings.

Ya, late last summer they did away with it in the main results.

Sorry Brett. I disagree.
I was getting directory results in Lycos.uk until very recently.
The easiest way to check is to type in a company name. This though doesn't work anymore.
Is Lycos.uk as a result taking up the Insite system that Lycos.com has just introduced.

Iloyd, what actually happens, me thinks, is Lycos first does 2 espotting results, followed by 6 categories (just the names of the cats), then starting the regular SERP, which above the Fast delivered listings brings up the three top results from the directory. IOW: 2 PPC listings 6 category names 3 directory listings 7 Fast listings
Added value for paid directory listings. Lycos.de does the exact same thing.

I still see the Lycos UK directory listings, top 3, they just don't have the cat link next to them thats all.

I agree with NFFC I am still seeing UK directory listings top 3.

NFFC and Ian. That would make sense. Will check it out. But why make it more difficult to understand what is going on.
Is UK Lycos getting ready for the Lycos Insite Select. So no one will notice the new paid listings.

Lloyd, Insite Select or whatever the name of the game will be, is not a paid listings programme. It only guarantees inclusion, not ranking. Wouldn't make much sense to mark a listing on page 17 as PFI listing.
