I just received and email from Espotting saying:

We've expanded our agreement with Ask Jeeves and Espotting's Top 3 results are now more prominently featured on the Ask site. They are now the first 3 results featured in the section, 'Pick a website from the list below' - and both the title and the description of listings are included.

They supply a link which if you click, does indeed show a search for books and top 3 results for Espotting. However, if you do the same search yourself, these results disappear. It is obviously set up as a marketing trick by Espotting. However, now they have announced it is like that, aren't they now under obligation by the Trade Descriptions Act to provide the results of which they wrote?

Of course they are giving bogus pages. How would you feel if they where using your PPC account to promote theyr own services?

Based on recent talk about Espotting and their new top 3 results with Ask - any chance of ask.com doing the same?

Just seems like espotting is prepping to make a push on this side of the Atlantic.

I think it's unlikely. Espotting has a deal with Kanoodle. Maybe they'll get involved.

Okay, had an email from Espotting this morning:

We had a
slight technical problem with our results at about lunchtime yesterday that
had an affect on them being displayed on Ask Jeeves.

They apologised as they mis-timed the newsletter. It seems to me that Espotting are really trying to win on the Customer Relations side of things. Good for them.

Nice of them to follow up with you on it. Good to know for future reference.
