The What are the 5 most important UK Engines? [webmasterworld.com] thread and it's succession, Estimation of the big players 1 year from now [webmasterworld.com], ended in Oct. 2001, I've got a #6 on a very competitive 2 word keyphrase, thanks to the latest FAST update on lycos.co.uk.

I know this update has only been in effect for the last 12-18 hours, but a kw with 3.000 searches on Overture Suggestion Tool [inventory.uk.overture.com] and 150.000 on Overtures .com suggestion tool, I could expect at least one referral (livestat).

Is lycos.co.uk still a top 5-10 referrer?

My last 100 referrals show 5 from Lycos.co.uk. I am in the directory and get a steady amount of referrals, the figures are not astounding but consistent

5% from the lycos.cu.uk directory, still haven't got any from the search serp.

Averages around 10% of referrals over a broad spectrum of UK sites - some us high as 20% some with little traffic but all-in-all significant enough to worry about how to get in and stay there. I'd say it would be in the top 10.

it's all about awareness, ask your friends to name some search engines and most will included Lycos within their list, so it's in my top 5

I normally get around 8% of my referrals from the old dog

I'm looking at about 5% across a number of sites. While the figures are not astounding, I'd put it in the five to ten.

Results can be infuenced by so many factors besides positioning and a good description always helps, otherwise people may simply not be clicking through.

Lycos is a brand allright and I'd expected at least a little traffic, title and desc. looking allright...

My Lycos stats are about 1-2% for technical sites and 5-10% for consumer sites.

After 4 days, still nothing...
