23 referrals in last couple of weeks

I am suddenly getting lots of referrals from UKIndex on one of my sites. Which seems a little strange as although the site is listed there is nothing special about its listing that I can detect. Has anyone else any experience of good referral numbers coming from this site?

And can anyone explain this behaviour?

Hi Ian,

It seems to have gone on a push to add new sites recently.

Like all services, if they don't have enough data, people won't use it.

The only suggestion I can make is that it looks like the directory is appearing in Google's index and this could generate additional traffic.

Further investigation leads me to believe that the apparent referrals from UK Index are actually the directory testing sites to see if they are live when they are pulled up in search results.

Can anyone confirm this suspicion?
