>I allways thought there was to little time for networking at the other conferences. Here it was all networking.

D*mdest conference I've ever attended, simply THE best... What a threshold it has set! PubConference '01 will be the standard by which all others are measured --no doubt about it.

It was great to meet everyone, obviously.

>I’m sure the Thistle hasn’t seen such seriously bad company two nights in a row in a while!

Ain't that the truth. Bwwwahahahhahahhaha! I can still see the looks on the faces of the other hotel guests as they queued up for the breakfast buffet.

David, those UK guys & gals now have a much higher respect for fine Southern tradition, eh?

Benj,

Keep a heads up for a conference coming up in Boston that we are putting together as we speak.

NFFC, Engine, Mike_Mackin, and others somehow managed to convince BTLooksmart, GoTo UK, and TopDog that it would be a good thing to pack a pub with 100+ SEO and webmaster professionals and fund a 4-digit bar tab. I'm still dumbfounded by the fact that it came off. Well, not just came off, but even exceeded everyone's best hopes or expectations as to effectiveness.

>and what you guys learned at the conference?
>
It wasn't like a 'normal' conference, 100% of the discussion was done 1-to-1 and/or in small groups. It was more of a feeding frenzy... each on his own. As others have implied, it was networking on steroids.

Am I the last one posting my thanks?

Okay, thanks the organisers to set the hole thing up - great idea and wonderful doing.

Thanks to the sponsors taking the bar tab.

Thanks to all of you I talked with (especially smatmax).

I didn´t take care of myself in London, I caught a cold and therefor I am not at work yet. Maybe to many cold beers?

Moxie, I've been thinking about this. The challenges are the Australia is such a large country with a relatively smaller popluation. Still, with airfares going the way they are... let me give it some thought...

Boston sounds great. My favorite North American city (though I have never been to Calgary)

Snibbo,

I was one of those taking up Stephen Baker (guy from FAST) time :) He is a member here, NIC = stephen_baker. You can check his profile for e-mail, or StickyMail him, I guess (said he doesn't get here as often as he likes though, so that might take a while to get a response)

He does answer e-mails though (thanks Stephen!)

Thanks for the rapid response TallTroll

I am reproducing an interesting piece on FAST in the FAST Forum which may be of interest to all in the group.

Hii All,

I am a small drop of SEO in the biiiiiiiiiiig ocean of SEOs. I am very happy to see your experiences in the conference. I think I missed a great conference.

You know, I am very much interested to have a conference like this in my country also ie., in India.

I request honourable members, sponsors and event managers to help me to make my dream come true. I am open to suggestions, if any. sig snipped - engine

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to reply to all so late, stayed in the UK until quite late the next week, and am now just getting caught up.

Thank you to the sponsors, Mike_Mackin, henki, engine, and many others. Enjoyed the late night meal, the drinks and the company.

And an extra special thank you to Simon and topdog, you know why.

Black_Knight: you choose your weapons, I choose mine? Fair fight, in my opinion :-)

Truly enjoyed meeting everyone--looking forward to the next one.

Hi everyone,
I too am somewhat tardy in offering my thanks to the organisers of the conference. Especial thanks must go to David of TopDog, God knows how I won it, for his submission software which I'm using now with relish. The bar tab gave me quite a hangover too! As a minor webmaster/SEO, it was very flattering to be in such August company and I am looking forward to the next bout?
