Are you guys still getting mega results from Yahoo or as my recent "pub survey" has shown, many new users havent even heard of them??
As a bit of summer fun (summer was last Sunday 3-4.15pm) ask your "average punter" type friends to name 5 SE or directories)
My guess is that the sophisticated old hands who have been on the net for 2+ years will name Yahoo but the others ........????
Last time I asked about SEs over a pint, Yahoo was the only name they could think of. In actual fact, most go "Ink what?"
They appear to be familair with the portals like freeserve, but don't really care where the results come back from, as long as they are good. If the results are bad, they tend to assume the information doesn't exist on the net. Five years ago, i'm sure that was the case. Nowadays, I think it's purely down to the quality (or not) of the search service.
So, Videoman, anything yet out of your Essex pages?
Be assured that if/when the first bit of biz comes from it, it will be drinks all round.:)
Mark, That really is a good example of the frustration that can occur. Has it come back yet?
