Auto Submit to UK sites?

Who tolerates it, who doesn't

I work for a SEO firm that primarily deals with US clients. We have a few who want to be submitted to the UK engines. I have done some research on the engines that look like we could auto submit to using our submission program we developed. The ones I think we could auto submit to are: Excite UK, AV UK, Google UK, AOL UK, Lycos UK, UK Max, HotBot UK, WebTop, LookSmart and Searchengine.com. My question is: Which of these engines will tolerate auto submissions? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Provided you have a domain (such as .co.uk) which will not be filtered out of the UK engines by default or user choice and are in the US engines, you really don't have many to submit to:

Excite UK is UK filtered Excite.com results.
AV UK does need seperate submission but is a deep crawler, so the home page will do it.

Google UK is Google.com with an option for a UK filter.

AOL UK is Inktomi, Lycos UK is FAST/AllTheWeb with a UK filter (apart from directory results which you need to hand submit to).
UKMax is Inktomi with UK filter. HotBot UK is pure Inktomi with UK filter option.

WebTop e-mails you back on submission asking you to verify your submission and deep crawls so home page only.

LookSmart UK is paid review only and rejects all other submissions (unless registered charity).

SearchEngine.com has PPC from Espotting followed by their own results. Note that they now provide a £75.00 fee for express review of your site so I would imagine autosubmitting will not do much good.

You really only need to submit to AV UK and the directories, so I would have thought doing it by hand would be safer and easier.
