A week ago, BTi revamped their homepage and took away the drop down search menu, leaving top buttons for Looksmart and Excite only. Yesterday, I noticed that hidden under the banners near the page bottom (if you have your text on Large)was a tab for BTi Inktomi. This is in addition to another Excite Box and one for Yel. It would have been strange if they had dropped their own db ........unless thay hadn't paid their Ink Bill.

maybe there but how buried!. I can't see any reason for moving the search away from the top, other than the need to loose the old drop down menu.

not that I'm going to loose sleep over the potential loss of traffic

You might find that BT starts sending more traffic of late. Over the weekend they phased out the old 0800 connection and users now have to use special dialing software.

This dialing software thoughfully opens your default browser to the BT homepage when connected.

For the past 10 days BT have been alternating a Tab for BT Ink search with BT Internet News but today I received this from BT.

"Regarding the Inktomi search, our contract has come to an end with the company and for financial and development reasons we now feature the Looksmart search as our 'internal' search engine."
So that's official BT is dropping INK - off too eat all my Easter Eggs- Bang goes the diet.
I am the Weakest Link
Goodbye ;)

Thanks for the heads up Videoman.
There you go, or should I say, there goes Ink.
Interesting about the financial reasons - hmmmm.

Enjoy your Easter.
