Directory entries should show up in the results, however, you will have to wait until the database is updated. This will depend upon many factors, mainly, how often they go for an update. 1 day to one month might be in order.
According to Lycos, they state:
"The Lycos Web Directory
The Lycos Directory contains hand-picked and individually reviewed websites and is updated every 2-4 weeks. Once a request has been made you will receive a confirmation email detailing when your site will be added."
