that's all that jump out at me, but I'm sure we can add to this, mind you how many of them are actually worth submitting to, maybe 10/15% of them and I think I'm being generous with that
ops and of course

There are probably 75 by now! even Alba36 is not totally up to date - but most not worth even trying at this stage:
1 few people know of them (except a smattering of webmasters/SEOs)
2 they have little content
3 they haven't been indexed themselves by the main search engines/directories to be useful for links.

Agreed. A better policy is to try and find the directories yourself. Use the major engines to search on your keywords and get yourself listed with the directories that appear in the search results. As these directories are often specific to your topic you can get more relevant traffic from this technique.
As an example I run a directory for dog breeders. Last week I recieved an email from someone who is listed in my directory. Her own site is well listed in the major engines, it is in the ODP and it comes top for the toughest two word dog phrase in AV UK. She mailed me to say that I provide her with 5-10% of her traffic (50-100 referals a month). Not earth shattering perhaps, but a steady stream of highly qualified traffic.
