Effect of World Cup and weather

I've heard grumblings from some on the AdSense side as well as some SEM's that unseasonably warm June weather coupled with the World Cup has slowed down overall search impressions/clicks/conversions by 20% in the month of June.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not the weather and th Cup are having such an impact?

Is that 20% down on last June? or just 20% down against a yearly average?

I would always expect to see a summer downturn, 20% would not be out of the ordinary.

I would expect to see a drop of about 33% for the summer months (July/August) against Jan/Feb/Mar. It is just the nature of holidays and business, the June drop may be slightly affected by the weather and the world cup - but a lot of what I have seen is that match times are very low but you get a compensating effect before and after.
