More public WiFi coming to the UK

A BT project aims to give a dozen UK cities widespread wi-fi coverage.

The telecoms giant has signed deals with 12 councils to fit wi-fi antenna to street furniture to create broad zones where people can get untethered access to the net.

Free! Did you expect public WiFi to be free? I doubt you'll see much free public WiFi anywhere these days.

I think they are going to offer WiFi for free in Central Park, New York. Obviously someone has to pay for it, but I can see more free WiFi being offered in the future.
