Hi all,

I have been a frequent reader of the many useful posts within this forum and I have a question that I would love if someone could help me with.

I wish to submit my site to any Irish directories that would be beneficial to my company (both in terms of increased PR and them being a traffic generating source)

From a previous post and general online searching I have found the following

http://ie.altavista.com/
http://www.2beirish.com/
http://www.anything-irish.com/
http://www.askpaddy.com/
http://www.browseireland.com/
http://www.doras.ie/
http://www.eirestudent.com/
http://www.finditireland.com/
http://www.index-eireann.com/
http://www.indexireland.com/
http://www.irishsites.com/
http://www.irishsearch.net/
http://www.niceone.com/
http://www.noticeboard.ie/
http://www.ireland-information.com/engine/

Has anyone got any other suggestions. I have found the sites above to be useful and fairly painless when it comes to submission, so to anyone that is in the same position as me, I hope you can make good use of them.

Many thanks in advance.

I've got a few that you don't have listed:

Not quite as important as it used to be.

http://www.anything-irish.com/
Pay for inclusion - though it might be better to be in Google.

http://www.askpaddy.com/
Seems to be a holiday booking site.

http://www.doras.ie/
Dead. Has been so for years now.

Looks like a squatter holding page to me. Are you sure you have the domain right? The big clue is the use of the word "Eire". People in Ireland do not typically refer to Ireland as "Eire" - the word is more commonly used about the Republic of Ireland by people in the UK.

Now squatted by those people in Ultsearch.

Rebranded as [search.ie...]

Other: whoisireland.com
Currently undergoing an upgrade with a few thousand more sites being added.

It is not so much a question of being in directories any more but rather one of being in Google. Most directory traffic these days is generated by Google so you can see a circluar traffic pattern developing. Also if you want to hit an Irish audience, use Google Adwords.

I'm trying to think of a few more Irish directory sites but I can't - most of them seem to last around 18 months at most. Though a few of the ones you've listed have been around for longer.

Regards...jmcc
