is it me, or is ASK.co.uk on a SERIOUS banner ad campaign

seems to me they have purchased £000000s of 468x60 banners from the networks with geo targeting

I am seeing them all over the place where fastclick and tribal fusion serve ads

?

They could well be, if it makes financial sense why not?

Though what you are seeing could be a short term lets test the water campaign.

Ian

suppose they have enough data to work out their ROI

as in they know what each user/search query on avergae is worth to them, and if they can get traffic cheaper then that, then it all makes sense with lots of branding to go with it (imo)

nice banners btw

New years always a good time for a branding campaign as well.

Given that they've been pushing 5% market share to start with it'll be interesting to see if it can break them into serious contention.

The bosses at Ask have always seemed pretty much on the ball commercially so it is unlikely they have gone out on a limb.
