Hmmm...I really donīt understand that.
When you do a search on freeserve, results come from Goto - do they mean GoTo.co.uk? I canīt find their results on Goto.com

the results shown on freeserve are from uk.goto.com at the inflated price of 5p

It seems to be a good idea to pay ink for getting in their index...could be much cheaper, and you should appear in the listings of freeserve, right?

true, but as goto supply the top 6 places on freeserve, depending on which keyword you're trying to get in you could end up at number 6. and of course you also have the fun and games of trying to work out ink's algo of the week

I've been using goto(uk) for some time now and the traffic it generates for me and my clients is very good, but expensive. not forgetting it also passes data to askjeeves as well

try looking at the goto.com as you can get some realy good keywords/bids for 1c

we are advertiser of goto.com, but now we want to focus on uk - so it may be neccessary to bid for kw on goto.uk...

UK Goto supplies as many listings as are paid for. Have a look at 'jobs' - paid listings go on to page 3!

It is true that Inktomi listings can get you in for some terms, but I've found the GoTo Inktomi DB somewhat unreliable and (for some reason) terms that appear in other Inktomi engines not being listed consistently (or at all) in GoTo. Results for the back up results appear to come from GoTo US not GoTo UK.

never released that thanks, mind you 34p per click ouch!!!. I have some keywords with goto(ink)that are showing on freeserve but not on the first page, so in other words not much good.

tigger - ouch is right! I've got a client in there and have had to raise to 12p to stay on the first page and they are burning a fair bit of dough per day even at the bottom of the page for that term. Goodness knows what the #1 is getting through - more than I earn (probably in a year);)
